I Am Canadian

Wherever this journey takes me I will always fly the Maple Leaf proudly. It may not have been the country in which I was born - and I may travel under my British passport if that makes it easier to get into a country - but I am, and always will be, proudly Canadian.

Last year I celebrated Canada Day - the 150! - in Newfoundland. And while my plans to see the sunrise over Cape Spear - the easternmost land point in Canada - didn't work out as planned due to the lack of sun, it was still wonderful to celebrate this great country in a truly beautiful part of it. And on this Canada Day, the last one I will celebrate in Canada for the next two years, I will take a moment to reflect on what it means to be a Canadian
